Eastern flank of MAA Flyover to close from tonight for repair work, alternate routes announced
Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee, during an administrative meeting on Thursday at Navanna, issued stern instructions to district magistrates (DMs) and superintendents of police (SPs) to take immediate action against illegal construction on government land or unauthorized buying and selling of such properties.
The Chief Minister emphasized that any such illegal activity should be dealt with firmly. "If anyone builds flats on government land and absconds, an FIR should be lodged, and the individual must be arrested," she directed.
She further stressed that the crackdown on illegal constructions and land deals should be impartial. “If any leader of any political party is involved in such activities, strict action should also be taken against them,” Banerjee added.
The instructions come as part of the government's ongoing efforts to ensure lawful use of government land and prevent unauthorized activities. This move is expected to tighten monitoring and curb malpractices in real estate across the state.
